Mr. Sandeep Sahney
Head , Sanofi Genzyme
Japan and Pacific (JPAC) Region
Mr. Sandeep Sahney heads the Japan and Pacific (IPAC) region for Sanofi Genzyme, the specialty arm of Sanofi that is focused on Rare Genetic diseases, Multiple Sclerosis, Oncology and Immunology. Sandeep is also a member of Executive Leadership Team for the organization. In the past, Mr. Sahney has been a member of CII National Committee on Biotechnology as well as member of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI).
Starting his career with Ranbaxy, his journey of three decades in Lifesciences spans across leading Indian and Global corporations including Wockhardt, Eli Lilly and Dr. Reddy's. He has worked in various leadership roles in Sales and Marketing, Strategy & Business Development and General Management.
Mr. Sahney joined Genzyme as Managing Director in 2007 to start the operations of the Boston based Biotechnology major in India and South Asia. In the following years, Genzyme emerged as a fully integrated company in bringing the novel treatments to Indian patients as well as partnering with organizations in both private and public sectors in the areas of Research and Development. Post-merger of Genzyme with Sanofi in 2011, Mr. Sahney has worked across international markets as Head of Intercontinental Region and Head of Emerging Markets for Sanofi Genzyme, before moving into the current role.
A graduate in Economics from SRCC, Mr. Sahney went on to earn his MBA from FMS, University of Delhi in 1986, specializing in Marketing and Finance. He is married to Ritu and they have a daughter Mehak and a son-Sarthak.
