Mr. Ajoy Kumar Misra is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Tata Global Beverages Limited. Mr. Misra served as Deputy Chief executive Officer of Tata Global Beverages (TGB) for 3 years until he was appointed to the post of MD and CEO in April 2014. He is on the board of directors of several associate companies including Nourishco Beverages Limited - a JV between TGB and PepsiCo and Tata Starbucks Private Limited. He has been the member of the CII National Committee on FMCG 2015-16 and on the Board of Directors of Indian Society of Advertisers.
As the CEO of an organization that is focused on natural beverages - tea, coffee and water, he is deeply invested in sustainability across the beverage value chain - from production to consumption. In his role at TGB, he has worked closely with the Rainforest Alliance and the Ethical Tea Partnership - both international nonprofit organizations that aim to ensure sustainable livelihoods. He is actively involved in Trustea - a multi stakeholder initiative led by the Tea Board of India to sustainably transform the tea industry in India
Mr. Misra joined the company as part of the Tata Administrative Service (TAS) in 1980. He has a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from BITS, Pilani and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP-174)at the Harvard Business School.
An ardent sports fan, Mr. Misra has been a sportsperson throughout school and college, playing a variety of sports - Hockey,Cricket,Tennis and Swimming and hopes to take up golfing on retirement.
With a keen interest in geo-political history, he closely follows current developments in this space while attempting to forecast future events. A passionate traveler, he takes time out during his hectic business travel schedule to experience the culture and understand the history of the place.
