Ms. Geetu Verma is on the Management Committee of Hindustan Unilever Ltd. as the Executive Director - Foods and soda - South Asia. She has nearly thirty years of marketing, business and innovation experience in leading FMCG firms - P&G, Seagram, PepsiCo in India and Europe and Unilever. She has led start-ups, turnarounds and scaled businesses in challenging contexts to stellar success. Notable brands that she has created from scratch or impacted include Whisper, Lay's, Kurkure Tropicana, Kissan, Kwality Walls, Brooke Bond Red Label and Seagram's Royal Stag amongst several others.
Ms. Verma is an Independent Director on the Board of Philips India and she is also the Chairperson of the CII Committee on Food Regulatory Affairs.
Ms. Verma has been recognized by several external forums including Business Today as amongst the most influential women in Business and Marketing. With her Food Marketing background and a passion for how food can play a role in preventive health, she defines her purpose as helping people lead healthier, happier lives. She has supported the Genesis foundation and the CEO Sing for Supper Cause' since inception and she also plays a key role in other child related causes and national nutrition forums.
Ms. Verma graduated from Faculty of Management Studies in the year 1988. She is married to Vikas (also an FMS alumnus and batch mate) and they have two daughters - Rifka and Mihika and a dog Breezer. As a family, their passion is cooking varied cuisines, travelling and debating current issues. The love for music forms an integral part of their lives - Western, Indian alike.
