Mr. Gurmit Singh was recently appointed as the first General Manager of Quora as it opened its office in India. He also founded an Edtech startup known as Edpurple and a consulting firm, DAUWAU both currently officed in Mumbai. Prior to this, Mr. Gurmit Singh served as the Vice President and Managing Director at Yahoo India for about 4 years. He oversaw Oath's (Yahoo +AOL) business in India, which is one of the most important markets for Oath. Oath is a global media technology company, with over 50 media and technology brands like HuffPost, Yahoo Sports, AOL, TechCrunch, Tumblr and Yahoo Finance-brands people love and visit across the world.
Mr. Singh started his career with Marico, which was like a start-up at that time. His career trajectory moved from FMCG to Media, finally leading to the Internet industry. He has been a part of organizations like Network18, Sony Music, Hindustan Times, Rajshri Media and the India Today Group.
Mr. Singh is an Engineering Graduate from Osmania University, Hyderabad and a University Gold Medalist. After his engineering, he joined FMS for a Masters in Business Administration. On the home front, Deepi, his wife, is a homemaker and he has a son, Angad.
For Mr. Singh, FMS was a great launchpad and believes that the student's days are always special. Technology is evolving faster now than ever before. It is great fun to keep pace with it.
