Mr. P R Kumar

Mr. P.R. Kumar is associated with BSES Yamuna Power Ltd. and BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. since 2002, managing areas like Strategic Planning, Business Operations, Regulatory, Legal etc. Prior to taking over as CEO (BYPL), Mr. Kumar was Business Head in BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd.(BRPL), the power distribution company which caters to over 2.4 million customers in South and West Delhi. Mr Kumar has an experience of over 30 years in the field of Power Generation and Power Distribution. He started his career as Assistant Engineer in a coal fired generating station of 2x210 MW capacity. Over the years, with his performance driven approach, he rose from the ranks to become the Chief Executive Officer of Distribution Utility in the Capital city of Delhi since 2014. Mr. P.R. Kumar has served in different organizations like UPSEB, NTPC, DVB, BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. and BSES Yamuna Power Ltd.
Mr. Kumar holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical Discipline from National Institute of Technology, Nagpur and has completed his Masters in Business Administration from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi in 1998. Mr. P.R. Kumar is married to Mrs. Mita and is the proud father of Ms. Pragya.
For him, "Management is achieving goals by way of optimization of resources. Management includes creating a vision for the Organization and setting out an appropriate strategy for achieving goals of the Organization by coordinating the efforts of all stakeholders."
